you have to take aware that the IP from the cluster NIC has a higher number than the intranet NIC:
e.g.: Intra-NIC= 127.0.0.1; Cluster-NIC= 127.0.0.2
also add the following line under section [Connectivity] to sametime.ini:
VPS_IP=127.0.0.1 (replace this IP with your IP)

If your Sametime server uses to NIC, one for internals and the other to extranet (like DMZ do over NAT) you also need the following parameter.
VP_MULTI_IP_ENV=1

But this way is not a supported configuration !
